Stuart Cutty

Stuart is the Managing Director of Self Protection Services a full time martial arts trainer and a qualified instructor in conflict management and physical intervention. He has been studying various forms of martial arts and combat for over twenty years and teaching for ten.

He has had a wide background in several fields of security for over fifteen years including door supervision, event security and personal security.

Within the North East Stuart is the main representative of the Self Defence Federation and one of only four instructors of the whole SDF syllabus. The Self Defence Federation teaches highly practical martial arts skills taken from a range of disciplines. Much of the knowledge within the SDF relates to the physical intervention skills required within conflict management.

Chris

Chris is a trained solicitor, advocate and negotiator who holds a Master of Laws degree in advanced criminal practice. He also holds grades in a number of martial arts including Judo, Karate and Ju-Jitsu. He has authored articles on self-protection and has trained with a large number of acknowledged experts in the areas of self-protection/self defence. Chris is also a member of the SDF and holds a second dan SDF black belt.

Martin J Dougherty

Martin has worked as a teacher, an engineer, a freelance author and a defence analyst. He has written over 30 books on subjects including weaponry, space exploration, education and military history as well as self-protection. His work also includes strategic reports and academic papers dealing with homeland security, terrorism, asymmetric warfare and weapons proliferation. Martin holds black belts in Self-Defence and Nihon Tai-Jitsu and is an SDF self-defence instructor. In the past he has trained in Karate, Judo, Ju-Jitsu, JKD, Taekwondo, Kickboxing and Military Combatives. He is also a fencing instructor and has competed at national level. Lee Grieveson

Lee started training in judo and boxing at the age of 13 and fought for 7 years as an amateur. He has been involved in various martial arts throughout his life including, karate, wing chun and more recently MMA. Lee holds a black belt second dan with the SDF and has trained under Stuart for 6 years.

Andy Terry

Andy holds a black belt in Judo and was recently awarded his black belt second dan with the SDF (self defence federation). He is regularly involved in security work and has worked for many years as a door supervisor. Andy has been training under Stuart for five years.
